Mason Wright captured his first victory of the 2025 Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series season on Sunday, defeating J.R. Gray in the final round at Route 66 Raceway during the 25th annual Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK.

Wright’s triumph, his second career NHRA Pro Mod win, came after Gray red-lit at the starting line, automatically handing the win to Wright. Despite the foul, Wright delivered an impressive performance, clocking in at 5.734 seconds at 251.25 mph in his Chevrolet Camaro — a run that would have been difficult to top under any circumstances.

“You can’t take any of these teams lightly. The team carried me the whole way (today),” said Wright, who moved to fifth in points. “I did not do my job on the starting line on any pass and the team deserves all of this. They won this race and this is all for them. But you can’t take anyone out here lightly. We have to come back stronger, but it’s awesome to have a team like we do.”

The win capped off a dominant weekend for Wright. He secured the number one qualifying position with a standout run of 5.676 seconds at 253.66 mph and maintained exceptional consistency throughout eliminations.

Wright’s strong showing at Route 66 positions him as a serious contender as the 2025 NHRA Pro Mod season continues. Gray took over the series points lead thanks to his efforts at Route 66 Raceway. Mike Stavrinos holds down the second spot, while Pro Mod veteran Rickie Smith is third.
